Why Everton Should Be Playing in The MLS All Stars Game: David Wilson

David Wilson wrote why Everton should be playing in the MLS All-Star Game in Salt Lake City in July. His article has resulted in him receiving many comments from angry Everton Fans.

He argued that Everton is an elite club who features world class players. They have Tim Howard who plays for the USA national team and is regarded as one of the best goal keepers in the EPL. Just look at the saves he made during the penalty shoot out in the FA Cup Semifinal against Berbatov, who is a $55 million dollar striker for Manchester United.

We have one of the strongest defences in the EPL. Lescott is a world class player and who was the highest scoring defender in the EPL last year. He is a defender who not only has played for England but a player who many clubs would like to sign. Cahill, Arteta, Baines, Jagielka, Howard and Pienaar are all players who have represented there national teams.

As for Everton being a big club? 

Everton is the 4th most successful club in England. They are not the richest club in the world, but do have made some good progress this season, considering our injury problems and not having a recognised striker for part of the season. Everton is the only club who has managed to break into the so called "Big Four."

There is nothing wrong with seeing a different team play the MLS All-Stars every year and I am sure David Wilson would like to see them play Manchester United every year, but that's not going to happen.

I can't wait for this game and feel proud as an Evertonian that we are getting the chance to play this game.
