From a Biased Fan: The 10 Most Annoying Fighters in UFC History, Part Two

Marco YanitelliMay 5, 2009

Hurray!

In the second part of this article I will reveal the top five most annoying UFC fighters of all time. I know the anticipation has been great. I know that you are all salivating just to catch a glimpse, so lets get right to it!

No. 5 Matt Hughes

“I’m just a good ole boy...” A cardboard box would provide a better interview than this man. If there was a boring way to describe boring I would use it to describe Matt Hughes.

Being dull doesn’t make someone annoying. What really got Matt on this list was the way he handled being a coach on TUF.

I mean, Serra is a lively guy to begin with but next to Matt he looks like a human Sonic The Hedgehog. Did Serra ever fail- even a single time—to goat a reaction out of that hypersensitive stiff (Matt Hughes)?

Not to mention Matt’s incessant attempts to educate his team in the way of the Lord. Asking these guys to read? Is he kidding? Wait - wait- not only read, but think as well. Its like he went into a Hell’s Angels recruitment party to discuss the benefits of Mongol life.

So when he fails to accomplish the salvation of their souls he whines, and pouts, and cries to his brother blah blah. Just teach the guys how to do an arm bar or something—don’t bother trying to develop character in these imbeciles. What character they have will become self evident anyway.

No. 4 B.J. Penn

I have never seen mediocrity celebrated the way this man and his life are celebrated.

Yeah he should be in the UFC Hall of Fame—right up there with greats like Mark Coleman!

Ahem. Face it- the guy is never in shape. He never takes his opponents seriously. He is a consummate quitter in the ring. He is always fighting guys that are too small or too big and constantly dodges competition from his own weight class.

Other than Sherk he hasn’t fought anyone that was any threat to his belt. A belt which is used—not to display Penn’s prowess in the cage, but instead to anchor his continued self promotion campaign. I would hazard a guess that Penn makes a lot more money off his reputation alone than any other UFC fighter.

Whatever the case he annoys me. Seeing him get pounded by Hughes in that crucifix was just awesome.

No. 3 Ken Shamrock

This guy reminds me of some punk from queens, driving an Iroc, wearing gold chains and bright white sneakers. Yeah a complete Guido. I should know a lot of my old friends were Guido’s, heh. The problem is I that I don’t think Ken’s even Italian right? I guess he just plays one on TV.

This guy really descended into bozo-dom with his endless Tito confrontations. The fact that he couldn’t talk trash to save his life just made him look ridiculous at times.

“I just want Tito to meet me in the cage again Bleeeeeed with me!” lol yeah ok King Leonidas-Shamrock. “All you do is talk! (repeat 10 times)” about sums up the most creative things he has ever been able to say.

Me Ill give Tito his in this one- he gave it to Chuck and Ken after beating Vitor - and got em good. “Yeah Ken Slambeep! I am Rick James and you ARE my bleep! Lol I rolled.

And to Chuck in the same night (whom I believe was on something that night) “Yeah I will knock you out- and you WILL be the last of the Mohicans!” lols Got to love it.

Then Tito had to go and blow it all with that troop nonsense and freedom of mms garbage. Personally Ill try to learn from his mistake and know when its time to shut up, heh.

No. 2 Michael Bisping

AAArrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh!

Thinking about this guy gives mean immense headaches. I cant stand him plain and simple. Its mostly because of that fight in England with Matt Hamill. I cant get over it and what he said after just sealed him in Monkey Vault for all eternity.

When he was first on TUF I liked Mike, but his career in the UFC has been so staged and bent in his favor that it has ruined whatever respect I had for this guy.

At 205 he fought some mostly bad fighters on way to a sound defeat at the hands of Hammil. Apparently Judges in England think you should get points for being tossed like a rag doll for 15 minutes so naturally they awarded the win to Bisping.

To this day I can only think of one other decision that was as bad and it’s a bit obscure to most (Marvin Eastman vr Jason Lambert KOTC).

Bisping, being the gentleman he is screamed at Matt telling him to get the hell back to wrestling. Matt is deaf dude- he cant hear you. You, Mr. Bisping, are a mental case. Matt was a total gentleman and showed the type of true character that people like Bisping could never acquire.

I was very disappointed that Evans didn’t demolish Bisping. Evans came in looking slow, fat, and out of breath. Man he almost lost to Bisping which would have been a total disaster.

Recently, Bisping became the first TUF coach to not show for fight day, leaving his fighter to hang. Bisping of all people knew that Dean’s (the TUF fighter) weakness was the triangle. He could have saved the mans career by just doing his job of showing up. Selfish is as Selfish does.

IMO The entire English promotion stuff is all bent one way or the other. TUF 9 is meant to build business in UK and nothing else- that’s why the fighters on the UK team are so much better.

No one in the US will give two bits if the winner is US or UK. In the UK, however feelings are different and a win in the UK name would be a huge boon for UFC business in that country.

I want to see Mike fight. Since he decided to dodge Matt Hammil at 205 I think after Henderson kicks his head in, Wanderlie should get a shot. And Anderson Silva as well. Stop protecting this poser.

I would not be afraid to fight Bisping. Trust me I fear a lot of people—Bisping is not one of them. He just annoys me. Bad.

No. 1

Originally I was going to talk about Dana White here, but he’s never been a fighter, right? So I can't talk about what a total bag of hot methane he is or go into the reasons why. I wont mention that by acquiring Pride he pretty much diminished the sport of MMA everywhere.

It's like a law of nature or something—eliminate competition and you eliminate quality. UFC is getting VERY boring. I liked different venues—rings, big cages, small yellow cages like KOTC. I miss the ramps fighters used to walk down and the spectacle that was Bushido.

I have been to two Bushido tournaments. I have also seen Metallica and Iron Maiden Live. I would rate them as all equally exciting.

UFC? You are making me snooze.

In the end therefore than can be no true No. 1 most annoying MMA fighter of all time.

Instead I'll apply it to non-ufc fighters: Takanori Gomi, Joachim Hansen, and Fedor.

To think that we will never see these three guys in the UFC is prolly the most annoying thing I can think of.

How about you?
