Interview with MMA model Erin Jade

I recently had the privilege of interviewing a Canadian MMA model from Toronto by the name of Erin Jade.

First of all Erin, thank you for accepting this interview. Letโ€™s start with the beginning and tell us a little about yourself.

Well, thank you for having me. Iโ€™m an MMA model from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I love watching MMA. I also have a passion for singing and acting. I just completed my marketing diploma, and I hope to someday have a career in advertising.

Iโ€™d say I live a pretty normal lifestyle and consider myself a pretty normal girl, striving to make it big in something that I love to do.

Can you tell us how you got into modeling?

Sure. I started off taking acting classes when I was 10 years old. Eventually, my agency moved and I found a new one, which happened to handle modeling as well. I decided to make an attempt at modeling, fell in love with the camera, and Iโ€™ve been modeling ever since.

Why did you become a model for mixed martial arts? Were you a fan growing up?

It actually wasnโ€™t until a few years ago that I became a fan.

My friends were always taking me to bars to watch UFC fights, or ordering them on pay per view. At that point, I started to get more and more into it, and eventually developed an understanding for the sport.

I originally used to be an import model, but I realized that I wasnโ€™t as into cars as I was into mixed martial arts. When Iย worked at theย MMAย Expo in Toronto, I found that I enjoyed it a lot more, and was far more enthusiastic about working for that industry.

I still do occasional car shows, but Iโ€™m more into MMA.

You told me you had a small role in the upcoming movie Death Warrior starring several UFC fighters. How did you like your experience on the set?

It was a lot of fun. I didnโ€™t do anything major in the film, just background work. But I still really enjoyedย myself. It was a good experience to get back into acting.

Did you have the opportunity to meet any UFC fighters during the filming of the movie?

No, I did not get the chance to meet any of the UFC fighters during the filming of the movie. I missed them by a day. Georges St. Pierre and a few others were filming the day before I was on set, but they were not on set the day I was shooting.

Can you reveal anything about the movie?

I think itโ€™s going to be big. Itโ€™s basically about fighters that need to fight to the death against different opponents.

I saw a picture of you and Dana White. How was it meeting the UFC president?

Danaโ€™s a really nice guy. Very down to earth and easy to talk to.

What are your future plans now?

I want to start a clothing line and sell apparel on my Web site, erinjadeonline.com. I also wish to have a career in marketing in the advertising sector.

Thank you for joining me today - it was a pleasure. Do you have anything else to add?

Thank you for having me.
