WWE "Smackdown!" Saves Jericho

Alex HallMay 4, 2009

As most WWE wrestling fans know, the latest "WWE Draft" results have gone into full effect as of the last "Monday Night Raw." The draft had some interesting results, such as Big Show being sent to Raw, Vladimir Kozlov being sent to Tuesday Nights on "ECW," and perhaps most intriguing of all, the first Undisputed Champion "Y2J" Chris Jericho being sent to "Friday Night Smackdown!"

Since Chris' return to the world of wrestling and signing on the dotted line with World Wrestling Entertainment, Jericho has had some incredibly captivating story lines and some "I just can't wait until this is over" type story lines.

For example his rivalries with Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels were two of the better rivalries in the past few years. However his story line with JBL and most recently his story line with the 50-something-year-old WWE legends have been painful to watch.

Ever since Vince McMahon and his team of writers decided to load every and any well known superstar onto the "Raw" brand superstars, like Chris Jericho, have been seeing less and less air time.

Chris Jericho is one of the few throwback wrestlers left in this business, and it's been difficult tuning into "Raw" week in and week out, seeing him so misused. Then finally, the man who came back to "save us" was saved from his dreadful legends story line and sent to "Smackdown" via the draft.

After seeing the last installment of "Smackdown," it seems to be safe to say that Vince and his team may have started along a road that will lead to a great 2009 for "Y2J."

In less than two weeks, Jericho has instantly become the second best heel on the show and seems to be headed into a new and interesting story line. Only time will tell whether or not this change of scenery will be a successful one for WWE.

But if things continue in this direction, there's big things coming for Chris Jericho.
