Report: Toronto Maple Leafs Have a Shot at Tavares?
"Pierre LeBrun of Hockey Night in Canada says the New York Islanders may be leaning toward choosing Swedish defenceman Victor Hedman with the first pick in the NHL amateur draft in Montreal on June 26-27.
If that happened, LeBrun said on Saturday night’s Hot Stove segment, the Tampa Bay Lightning, holders of the second pick, might be interested in either trading their choice outright or choosing [center John] Tavares and then flipping the London Knights’ star.
"
Although the article cites Pierre Lebrun, there is no author responsible for this article.
Not surprising. I don’t think any author from the CBC would want to have their name linked to this article because it is more speculation that nobody wants to be responsible for.
This is simply another example of the Toronto media pulling down Tavares’ value to deceive other teams, creating a greater chance for him to end up with the Leafs. It is disappointing that the CBC, a national corporation, is now involved in this mess.
Until I hear from Islanders goalie Garth Snow himself, which is unlikely, I will not believe any speculation from Canadian media regarding Tavares and the Leafs
Rest easy, Islander Army.
