US Open Golf 2013 Leaderboard: Latest Day 2 Scores From Merion
Day 2 of the 2013 U.S. Open is underway and the action on the leaderboard at Merion Golf Club is even better than the scores currently indicate.
With the top players in the world not dominating the course as many had expected coming into the major championship, the Day 2 jockeying on the leaderboard will be too exciting to miss.
After rain forced the first round to be concluded Friday morning, expect the delayed start to yield plenty of golf until sundown on Day 2.

Star That is Shining: Luke Donald
Luke Donald has struggled at U.S. Opens thus far in his career, but judging from the way the English star finished his first round at Merion Golf Club (-2) and started his second, he will be a serious threat throughout the tournament.
Donald has been flirting with the lead since he birdied the first three holes of the tournament, but it’s the style in which he has been playing with thus far that has him becoming a favorite to win it all.
Not only is he hitting smart tee shots, but his mid-range game is spot on and his putter is better than normal which has led to several ideal birdie opportunities.
As long as the veteran continues to play smart, fundamental golf at Merion, and avoid the unique quarks that make the course so different, he will have a great Day 2 finish and a great weekend at the U.S. Open.
Star That is Struggling: Lee Westwood
As a perennial contender at the U.S. Open, the expectations on English star Lee Westwood were through the roof coming into Day 2 after shooting 70 in the first round and finishing the day even.
Westwood started Friday tied for sixth overall, but fell off the pace in a big way by bogeying five of his first eight holes and putting himself outside the cut line before ever starting down the always tough front nine.
The English star is in trouble.
Fortunately for Westwood, the entire field is struggling to tame Merion this week and the cut line will fluctuate throughout the day. As long as the veteran can put together a stellar finishing stretch on Day 2 and the field continues to struggle, he should be there on the weekend.
