Chicago Pulls off a Shocker in Vancouver

GoucheMay 3, 2009

Penalties were the bane of Chicago in the first period and they were left with two goals down. However, they came out in the second period like gangbusters, stepped up the pace, and stepped all over the Canucks; even getting a short handed goal.

Vancouver had a tough time getting out of their own end, and even when it looked like they seemed to put a play together, it fell apart. Frustration probably got the best of them, and the Blackhawks just kept on coming.

There is nothing I can say in defense of our Canucks. They were just totally out-played by an aggressive, physical force, they had no defense against. The altercations and fights that broke out lead to many penalties, some of them two men. The Canucks did manage to get a goal from Henry Sedin, but it was too—little—too—late. The 6-3 score tells it all.

I am torn because I have always been a Blackhawk’s fan, but I also want to see a Canadian team advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. After game one and the way the Canucks won it, I honestly thought this was going to be a fast series. Oops! I now think I am wrong! Momma Gouche
