Legacy Follows Through: Where Do They Go Now?
It's been a while since I last wrote an article on B/R. I just want to talk about the recent win at backlash by legacy and what the future could hold for the group.
At Backlash Randy Orton captured the WWE championship by RKO'ing and punting Triple H with the help of Rhodes and Dibiasie. As everyone could see Batista was stupid to get himself DQed for using a steel chair then having Trips take it away causing a distraction. This allowed the legend killer to strike and get the pin-fall.
As everyone probably heard Dibiasie will be turning face around Christmas 2009 to promote his movie. So with Dibiase going in another direction how badly will legacy be damaged or will they even last that long? My guess Dibiase will either turn on legacy or legacy turns on him have wait on this one.
Dibiase has a lot of potential for a guy of his caliber and needs a singles push because he has already won the tag titles with Rhodes. If he does get the push the US title will be a run for his money to see how well he can work on his own. With Orton in his corner he couldn't lose.
Now for Rhodes he doesn't seem that well built yet. Sure he has held the tag titles three times but for singles push not so much. If Rhodes bulks up a bit he could look like a contender for a mid-card title. Rhodes has some potential just he needs more time to elevate his career.
Rhodes eventually will leave legacy or legacy throws him out too. At the time being legacy is just starting to get pushed so that Rhodes and Dibiasie will become the unified tag champs and stays wwe champ for now. There will some title changes to come in the coming months.
Orton being the leader of Legacy will have to some how lead his group to be dominant. Orton wanted DH Smith to join Legacy but since being drafted to ecw those plans are shot down. DH Smith is now planned to team with Tyson Kidd to form the new hart foundation.
Legacy needs one more member to be an indestructible posse like evolution was at their prime. Matter of fact is that another person is soon to join Legacy in the future just not DH Smith. But then again what is going to be the end of the group that Orton recruited with collective potential?
Bringing back the point How soon is legacy going to end? What is Going to be the downfall? And Why so soon Legacy? Where does this all come in to play?
Orton has been scouting I guess with who Dibiasie and Rhodes are the weaker part of the group. Vince McMahon would like the fans to see how far the group can go just like evolution did. McMahon probably knows it but its up to him for business and whether or not he pushes the group to the full extent.
Orton like Triple H when he was the leader kicked Orton out because of jealousy and a weak link. So in this case will history repeat itself with Orton kicking Dibiasie out of jealousy and being a weak link? Only time will tell.
I hope Legacy sticks around for a while even when Dibiasie goes. The real question is How much time is given left for Legacy to be a legitimate stable until it blows up?
Now briefly about Batista and Triple H we did not see a heel turn by anyone. If Batista does turn heel it's going to be built up over the coming weeks unless Trips comes back tomorrow night and puts himself in the title match at judgement Day. This will create tension and most likely renew an old feud we haven't seen in four years.
Triple Threat for the WWE championship at Judgement Day Orton vs Trips vs Batista. Even though Orton punted Trips at Backlash to sell an injury I would think knowing Trips will get involved and Batista will be pissed and then when the time comes the two will have hate for each other more than ever. Thus allowing Orton to retain his title.
How long do you think Legacy has until a major rift occurs for the group? And do you think Triple H will get involved at Judgement Day and renew his feud with Batista?
