Short and Sweet Momma Gouche
Lidstrom played a stellar role, on Friday night, in leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-1 victory over the Annaheim Ducks. It certainly wasn”t a foregone certainty that Detroit would win this game; as it was in the Bruins win over the Hurricanes; but the 5 minute major on Brown opened the way for the Detroit victory. Coach, Carlyle didn’t see eye to eye with the referee’s call, but the show of blood is always the obvious decision. Good effort Ducks but Detroit in five!
The Boston Bruins certainly didn’t suffer from any lack of verve, after their lengthy layoff, before meeting the Carolina Hurricanes in game one of the second series. It was apparent from the beginning that the Bruins were going to be the dominant contender. Savard and Kessel dominated the play, and together they garnered two goals. Ryder dug in at every opportunity and has managed to score in each of the last four games. This the calm before the Storm for the Hurricanes, out in FIVE!
