1st Full-Length Trailer Released for WWE's Total Divas Reality Show
Over at its official YouTube channel, WWE has released the first official trailer for Total Divas.
The show, which is due to air on the E! Network next month, focuses on a group of Divas—Natalya, Cameron and Naomi, The Bella Twins and developmental stars Eva Marie and Jo-Jo Offerman—as they attempt to navigate their way through the thorny world of backstage WWE.
Per reports (PWInsider via WrestlingInc), WWE management have high hopes for the show and believe it will allow the company to appeal to a whole different audience. Being on the female-targeted E! Network, the show is obviously being aimed at women rather than the young men who make up much of Raw and SmackDown's audiences.

So, what does the trailer tell us?
Well, if you didn't already guess, The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie are clearly being positioned as the main stars.
They're all over the promo package. Indeed, the other girls, particularly Natalya, seem to have firmly relegated to the sidelines. You wonder why they don't just call the show The Bella Twins and be done with it.
OK, so the Bellas are good-looking girls, and both have at least a modicum of charisma and personality, but centering a one-hour show on them? That might be unwise.
Heck, one look at the some of most recent Raw ratings breakdown may tell you everything you need to know. Nikki and Brie's match on May 6, in which they teamed with A.J. Lee to take on Kaitlyn and the Funkadactyls, lost an astonishing 921,000 viewers. A mixed tag team match the night after WrestleMania featuring the siblings also had 665,000 people tuning out (figures from F4Wonline via WrestlingInc.).
Granted, it's not fair to heap the blame solely on Nikki and Brie for these dire numbers. The terrible state of the Divas Division may also be a factor.
But they do strongly indicate that the girls have trouble holding in the viewers—something that surely doesn't bode well for Total Divas.
