Episode 11 (Steinberg and Levy) of the JoeSportsFan Show Now Available
Imig attended Wrestlemania a few weeks ago and Bacott is headed to the Kentucky Derby this weekend. Sticking with the theme of “niche interest,” Sebek is most likely headed to the American Idol finale in a few weeks.
Nevertheless, the JoeSportsFan attendance at various “sporting” events got us wondering…what are some events where the actual “event” becomes bigger than the “sport”? This very topic kicked off Episode 11 of the JoeSportsFan show.
Later, we were joined by Dan Lev (OnTheDL Podcast) and Dan Steinberg (The Washington Post’s DC Sports Bog) during the illustrious “Wiffle Ball” segment.
Yes, it was a symbiotic mix of Jewish sports bloggers named “Dan”. It was quite impressive, really. In fact, the segment ended with Levy and Steinberg talking about their recent Passover experiences. They were one shikzah reference away from being dropped.
Nevertheless, it was a fantastic show. Here were the topics covered during the critically-acclaimed round table.
- You hold Bud Selig hostage and make him get rid of one Major League Baseball game tradition (i.e. 7th inning stretch). What are you kicking to the can?
- You solve the time/space continuum and can teleport into the life of one childhood sitcom star - past or present - where you headed?
- You can punch one professional coach or manager in the teeth without punishment. Who you sluggin’?
- What is one sporting event that you were really anticipating, but was an ultimate disappointment?
- What sport has the biggest gap between the watching “live” and “from the couch” experiences?
