Indiana Pacers Head Coach Frank Vogel Was on 'Letterman Show' in 1986

Ladies, gentlemen and extraterrestrials, meet the amazing, tooth-brushing, basketball-wielding Frank Vogel.

As it turns out, coaching the Indiana Pacers is not Vogel's claim to fame—appearing on Late Night with David Letterman in 1986 was.

Why, you ask? So that the then-13-year-old could showcase his "stupid human trick."

Vogel's unorthodox talent entailed him brushing his teeth while spinning a basketball at the end of his toothbrush.

I know what you're thinking: There's nothing stupid about practicing sports and proper hygiene at the same time. Reggie Miller concurs.

This isn't the first time Vogel's cameo has been brought up, either. Earlier in the season, at a Wish for Our Heroes holiday party in Indianapolis, Vogel got up on stage to show the party-goers how he keeps his smile squeaky clean while honing his superior ball control.

"I have all my Pacers practicing this drill diligently every single day," he said.

Again, nothing stupid about that, right?

To tell you the truth, Vogel's future was always written in the toothpaste. He was clearly destined to become a coach that preached a never-say-die attitude.

Rest assured, he will never let his Pacers stop battling, even against the Miami Heat.

Vogel knows how to fight; he's been combating plaque his entire life.
