That's the latest from the newspapers in this Wednesday edition of the B/R Summer Transfer Window Gossip roundup. Inside, we also have updates on usual suspects Edinson Cavani and Gareth Bale, along with a stunner concerning Cesc Fabregas.
Keep reading for all the details.
Radamel Falcao
1 of 6Atletico Madrid and AS Monaco have agreed to a deal to send striker Radamel Falcao to Monaco, according to Diario AS.
Monaco will pay Atletico €45 million for the transfer. Falcao will sign a four-year contract worth €14 million per year tax-free. The contract has a clause allowing Falcao to leave the club next season.
Falcao, a 27-year-old Colombian international, has scored 28 goals in 34 La Liga appearances this season. Atletico have one match left but have already qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League and won the Copa del Rey.
Edinson Cavani
2 of 6Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has told reporters that he "dreamed" of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona as a child (via Football Italia).
Cavani, 26, has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, with the Daily Telegraph reporting last week that a deal was close. The Uruguayan international scored 29 goals in 34 Serie A appearances this past season.
“As a child I dreamed of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona, but now I am proud to be at Napoli, this is important,” Cavani told reporters. “On my future I cannot say anything, because I still do not know anything."
Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara
3 of 6Manchester United have contacted Barcelona over the potential transfer of midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara, according to ESPN.
Incoming United manager David Moyes reportedly wants to make a "statement signing" this summer as star forward Wayne Rooney is expected to leave the club. ESPN sources say Barcelona are willing to sell Alcantara for £18 million. The Fabregas deal is less certain, but the report speculates that Barca could accept £25 million.
Cesc, 26, joined Barcelona from Arsenal in 2011. Arsenal reportedly have the option of first refusal to sign him back. He has scored 10 goals with 11 assists in La Liga this season (one match left).
Alcantara, 22, has made 26 league appearances, scoring twice.
Gareth Bale
4 of 6Real Madrid have offered £60 million for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gareth Bale and set a deadline of June 15 for the deal to be complete, according to a Daily Star exclusive.
Spurs have reportedly offered Bale a raise to £130,000 per week, but Real are willing to match the salary. In an interview with Marca TV (via ESPN FC), Bale's agent, Rob Barnett, said that Bale has not begun negotiations with Tottenham over a new contract.
Christian Eriksen
5 of 6Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen said he has not "heard anything" about his rumored move to Borussia Dortmund in an interview with Bold.dk (via Sky Sports).
Eriksen, a 21-year-old Denmark international, has one year left on his contract with Ajax. He has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for the departing Mario Gotze, and sources in Denmark have reported that the deal is done.
Said Eriksen:
"I still haven't heard anything. I've just seen what is in the papers. Of course it is pointless if there isn't any truth to the rumours. But I've read a lot, and so far nothing is completely true. I've said it before that Dortmund is an option that would be good for me, but it is not the only option.
"
Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars denied the reports as well, telling VoetbalZone.nl (via Sky Sports): "Danish newspapers ran numerous stories about a concrete offer, but Dortmund have not contacted us."
Eriksen scored 10 goals in 33 Eredivisie appearances this past season.
Quick Kicks
6 of 6Agent Teodora Fonseca has told Le 10 Sport (via ESPN) that AS Monaco are interested in signing Brazilian winger Hulk (pictured) from Zenit St. Petersburg.
Players, managers and presidents in the Spanish First and Second Divisions have admitted, in recorded statements, to match fixing, according to Marca.
Malaga midfielder Isco says his future is still undecided, telling Marca: "I have some doubts, because I want to play wherever I go." He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Chelsea are interested in £25 million-rated Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, according to the Daily Express. Jovetic is reportedly an Arsenal target.
