Latest on Jeff Hardy's WWE Contract and...TV Show??

Joe Burgett Apr 29, 2009

For about a week or two news has come out that Jeff Hardy is supposedly turning down offers from the WWE and will leave the company and what not. All were added to the sites for effect so you'll come back of course. Now here is the real scoop.

Word had it that Hardy was going to lose against his brother at Backlash too because of his contract, but who quit? I believe it was Matt.

So with that said, some of the things we are hearing are just out the blue weird. I mean saying he has turned down every offer is untrue, as he is set to sign a one-year contract soon.

He will be signing it and then renegotiating the contract until both he and the WWE are satisfied. Word about him being burnt out is true, he does need a break from the hellish schedule of the WWE.

And since there is a threat to have him leave, and because he is a big star and considered the top face on SmackDown right now, he has significant pull in the company.

Word has it that he may get an Undertaker-like schedule, which he would have a few more months in but not to much more. He just wants to have more time off because of the way he wrestles compared to others.

His body cannot take all of the pounding that it could before, so he does need a lighter schedule. And if this is how the WWE can keep him on the roster I am sure they will take it.

And I am sure that the WWE will do what is good for business and take him up on the offer and then pay him what he deserves.

The former WWE Champion has also been in talks with MTV on a new reality show too. It would be an show like that of The Hills or Keeping up with the Kardashians where it would document him and his life in and out of the ring.

Of course unlike the Hills and Keeping up with the Kardashians, it will actually be something worth watching.

RVD has something like this already on his website, but it is not mainstream on MTV so that is something Jeff Hardy has over him.

Also the fact that Jeff does have an interesting life outside of the ring as well as in it will be a good factor in the idea of giving him the show.

This is also good for the WWE because it is free promotion, which all companies love.

So they would be in full support of Hardy doing this I am sure and that is good for both sides.

MTV reaches a certain audience the WWE is trying to keep in the 18-30 demographic and also gets younger people more and more too. So with that said because of that alone the WWE will let him do it.

Also MTV will do well with this too, as Hardy is very popular and ratings will come to the show resulting in money for the network.
