Reds vs. Astros, Take 2!

A "Reds Killer" if there ever was one.

Johnny Cueto squares off against “Reds Killer” (George Grande reference) Roy Oswalt in a rematch from earlier this month.  Though Oswalt outmatched Cueto and the Reds the last time, he ended up with a no decision.  But don’t worry!  His record of dominance suffered no scars as he’s still 23-1 in 29 games verses the Reds.  23-1????  Are you kidding me???  No, but I wish I were.  I’m also not kidding about his career 2.39 ERA against the Reds.  Hopefully the Johnny Cueto we saw in Chicago will show up tonight.  If so, I have to say I like our chances.  However, the Reds have to bring the same bats with them for Cueto as they did last time, too.  If the Reds can go with the same plan as their last Oswalt encounter and knock him out early enough to see plenty of bullpen, they stand a darn good chance at getting the win.  It’s no secret that the Stros’ lackluster pen is their greatest weakness.  Valverde has blown 2 saves (give one of those to Jerry Hairston Jr.) already while Byrdak, Geary, and Hawkins have blown a save apiece themselves.

Let’s hope the Reds get their bats fired up early tonight so they can salvage what’s left of this home stand.

GO REDS!!!
