Oakland Raiders Are Dangerous—NFL Beware!

With the NFL Draft behind us now we can take a look at the first round and second round selections made by the Raiders. Scratch our heads wondering why in the world did Crabtree or Maclin get bypassed by the silver and black eventually grabbing Heyward Bay?

Hear are two possible view points:

1) Crabtree or Maclin would have possibly protested and refused to go to the Raiders.  Requesting trade demands or wanting to go back to college one more year.  Commenting "I will enter the NFL draft in 2010".

2) Heyward Bay, McFadden, and Higgins are all speedsters. Heyward Bay does not have the best hands. Though does not have to since the west-coast offense trio will give defenses nightmares. When linebackers are in covering underneath they will be threaten by the trio as well.  In either case Heyward Bay will have to improve and learn fast for all that money.

The pick that should be talked about is the second round is the beast Michael Mitchell. A lot of people are saying who? and why?

First I will start with the who. Imagine a safety who has Polumaulu's closing speed, Dawkins wild style, and instincts like Reed. Combine that with Sanders' run stuffing style, not to mention the late Taylor's hitting strength times two, you get Mitchell a future top five safety in two years!

Why? The Bears scouts knew about this guy too and were going to take him with the 49th pick overall. How in this day and age does a talented safety fly under the radar? You ask especially with technology the way it is today.

Simple he played in a bad conference without much media exposure not to mention his college is in Buckeye country.

He was dominating games and laying opponents out though was on a bad team. Therefore, Michael Mitchell not being a big name and not being on television he was a local legend only. It's clear someone noticed him and the buzz began look it up on youtube.

An additional selection made in the forth round was Louis Murphy Florida's other receiver to complete the offensive threat.
