WWE RAW Rewind: The Revolution Is Officially Televised!
Vickie Guerrero starts the show by introducing the new WWE Champion, Randy Orton. Orton comes out to a sea of cheers and boos along with Rhodes and DiBiase. Orton takes a little time to flaunt the gold to the crowd before finally speaking to the WWE Universe.
Orton tells the world that he did exactly what he said he was going to do. After a video package that saw the demise of The McMahon Empire, Orton goes back up top and salutes the crowd.
Vickie then congratulates and kisses the ass of Randy Orton. She then announces that Orton will face either Big Show or Batista at Judgment Day. Despite a disdain look on his face, Orton has no problem accepting the fate, but before he leaves, he tells the crowd one thing: “I’m all that you have left.”
As Orton goes on another tirade, he is interrupted by the United States Champion, MVP! MVP comes out and informs him that he intends to take down Randy Orton in due time. With that, RAW GM Vickie Guerrero decides that tonight, MVP will face…Randy Orton tonight!
The Brian Kendrick vs. Kofi Kingston
Kendrick tries to get an early advantage, but Kingston goes on the assault. Following a drop toe hold, Kendrick gets control with a missile dropkick. Following the Boom Boom Boom Leg Drop, Kingston almost gets the pinfall victory. After countering The Kendrick, Kingston delivers the Trouble in Paradise to get the pinfall and the victory.
Following a brief look at last night’s Backlash, Santina Marella arrives to the ring.
Santina Marella, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella and Mickie James vs. Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Jillian and Rosa Mendes
Santina and Beth start the match, but after a chop to the chest, Brie Bella is brought in. The Glamazon starts punching Brie. But Brie slides under the ring, where Rosa gives chase.
The Bella Twins pop up along with Hornswoggle. After the littlest member of the RAW roster provides interference, Santina tags in and rolls up Jillian to pick up the victory. After the bell, however, Hornswoggle gets a bird’s eye view of what is under the skirt of Santina.
Matt Hardy vs. Goldust
Matt calls his brother barbaric, twisted and sick. He then tries to claim that he did not quit last night at Backlash against his brother, Jeff.
Hardy tries to pull out all the stops to keep from fighting against The Bizarre One. As the official holds Goldust, Hardy nails him with the cast on his right arm to score the victory.
Main Event of First Hour Randy Orton vs. MVP
The two men exchange armbars and wrist locks in the beginning of the match. MVP starts to gain control with a shoulder block and knee drop to the sternum. But Orton gets the offensive with a few European Uppercuts, but MVP gets the advantage with a belly to belly suplex. MVP blocks a shot and delivers a Drive-By to send the WWE Champion to the outside.
Back in the ring, Randy Orton has control with a headlock following a DDT. MVP fights out of it with a back suplex. The two men begin to slug it out with MVP getting the advantage with a belly to belly throw. MVP nails the knee, followed by the Ballin’ Elbow Drop.
As Orton tosses MVP over the top rope, Shane McMahon comes and plays Home Run Derby with a kendo stick followed by an elbow drop. He then sprints out of the ring as Priceless bolts to the ring with steel chairs.
On SmackDown this Friday, the WWE will hold its first televised WWE Scramble with Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho and John Morrison will battle to determine who will face World Heavyweight Champion Edge at Judgment Day.
Back from commercial, The Miz decides to grace us with his presence. He comes out and issues a challenge…to John Cena. He continues to call out the Chain Gang Commander, but everyone knows that he is not there…
Or is he?
Turns out that Cena is indeed not in the building tonight. The Miz declares himself the winner via forfeit. He then demands that Lillian Garcia announce him the winner, but when she refuses, he does it for her. But it’s clear that The Miz wants a piece of John Cena.
The Colons vs. Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble
Chavo gets early control on Carlito with an armbar, but Carlito reverses the hold and puts the pressure on Chavo. Thanks to some interference from Jamie Noble, Chavo is able to get control of the match. Primo gets the tag thanks to a standing dropkick on Chavo. Carlito and Jamie slug it out with Carlito getting the advantage with a modified spine buster.
Primo takes out Chavo, and Carlito dispatches of Jamie with the Backstabber to pick up the win for the Unified Tag Team Champions.
Back from commercial, Vickie Guerrero returns to make another announcement: Randy Orton will face Shane McMahon next week on RAW. With that, Big Show makes his way down for his chance at Randy Orton and the WWE Championship at Judgment Day.
No. 1 Contender’s Match (Winner faces Randy Orton for WWE Championship @ Judgment Day) Big Show vs. Batista
Both men gun for their finishers right off the bat as Batista counters a choke slam from Big Show only to have his Batista Bomb blocked. Big Show has complete control over the Animal with a head butt and massive chop to the chest of Batista.
Big Show utilizes his right hand plenty of times to keep Batista grounded. As Batista fights back, Big Show continues to drop him with those huge right hands. Show has Batista in a bear hug following a punch to the kidneys.
Following a spine buster, Batista looks primed to end the match, but Big Show delivers a huge choke slam. As Big Show goes to the outside, John Cena appears at the entranceway and distracts him enough to force the countout and give Batista the match at Judgment Day.
Following the bell, Batista drops Big Show with a Spear, and John Cena looks on with a look of acceptance at the results of the match. Both men stare each other down as RAW goes off the air for the night.
