Josh Cribbs, one of the best return men in the NFL, has signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Cribbs confirmed the news that he'll be joining Raider Nation via TwitLonger:

"

The team also confirmed the Cribbs signing on their website, and posted a photo of the wideout signing his deal on their Instagram page

Cribbs told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he feels he has something to prove about his durability and ability to contribute:

"

Yes. I feel great because I have another opportunity to prove everyone wrong. The same way I got into this league and made my mark I have the opportunity to do it again with a fresh start with a new organization. So yes, I have a chip on my shoulder to show I will have the same level of play this upcoming year.

"

Cribbs spent eight seasons with the Cleveland Browns, where he established himself as one of the finest return men in the game. He's scored 11 return touchdowns in his career and averages 11.0 yards per punt return and 25.9 yards per kickoff return.

While Cribbs wasn't a major factor in Cleveland's offense in 2012, with just seven catches for 63 yards and six rushes for 42 yards, he has proven to be an offensive weapon in the past.

In 2011 he set career highs in receptions (41), receiving yards (518) and receiving touchdowns (four), while he was utilized in the running game to great effect in 2009, rushing 55 times for 381 yards and (6.9 yards per carry) and a touchdown.

While he isn't a traditional weapon at wide receiver, he still presents value in the return game and can do some damage in a Wildcat package or as a dual-threat player to run or catch the ball.

He was also a part of one of the scariest moments of the 2012 season, when Dannell Ellerbe of the Baltimore Ravens hit him so hard on a punt return that Cribbs' helmet shot off his head and he lay motionless on the field, knocked unconscious from the blow.

Somehow, he would return the next week after that hit.

Cribbs' best football is probably behind him, but he is still a threat in the return game and, if properly utilized, still has a few big plays left in him offensively.
