Former Detroit Lion Titus Young Arrested Twice in 15 Hours on Sunday

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested on two separate occasions for two separate reasons on Sunday. 

The Oakland Press' Paula Pasche has the bizarre details of the story:

According to the police report, Young was stopped at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday after making an illegal left turn in front of a patrol car.

Young was stopped and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center and later issued a citation and released from custody.

Hours later, at 2:22 p.m. that day, officers responded to a tow company yard where a man was seen jumping over the fence.

It was Young looking for his black Mustang.

He was arrested for burglary after the police determined he was trying to take his own vehicle. He was booked again at the same detention center.

That's not going to help the once-burgeoning wide receiver make an NFL team.

The Lions released him in February after "unacceptable" behavior—which included punching teammate Louis Delmas and forced him to be sent home three different times—became far too much to deal with.

To make matters worse, he responded about as poorly as possible, subsequently going on a controversial Twitter rant and once again making the headlines in the wrong way.

Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams attempted to give him a second chance, but they weren’t impressed and quickly released him.

Two arrests in one day should officially be the nail in the coffin for Young’s NFL career.

He has always shown promise. In two seasons with the Lions, he compiled 81 catches for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns. On several occasions, he appeared to be right on the cusp of being a dynamic, consistent slot receiver in the league.

But alas, the psychological and character issues that have been a concern since the start of his career aren’t going away, and there’s simply no room for a player so adept at getting into trouble in the NFL, no matter how talented he may be.
