Chelsea
On their way here, Chelsea has beaten Italian giant Juventus, and beat English rival Liverpool in the knockout round and ever since Guus Hiddink has taken over, Chelsea truly has looked like a team reborn. Also with their FA Cup win last Saturday over Arsenal, they could still accomplish the English Treble.
Barcelona
Barcelona has looked like the team to beat not only this season in Spain, but also in Europe. They have easily dispatched both the French champions Lyon and German champions Bayern Munich.
With Lionel Messi having his best ever season, and Henry and Eto'o also both having wonderful seasons, Barcelona is a team that looks like it is firmly in control.
What to expect during the match
Chelsea
Chelsea did allow four goals to Liverpool in its last Champions League game but as of late, they have played much better defensively, mostly because of John Terry's return from suspension.
Also with their better form since Guus Hiddink took over, Chelsea can never be ruled out of a game. They also have shown us that they can play on the road with their wins at Anfield and at Juventus in the knockout round of the Champions League.
And they still feel the pain of barely missing out on the Champions League trophy from last year, which could fire them up to play hard at Barcelona.
Barcelona
Barcelona has had great offensive seasons from its star players, which will probably lead to plenty of goalscoring opportunities. Messi has had his best season yet, and Eto'o and Henry also have had great offensive seasons.
Barcelona has also been dominant at the Camp Nou as of late in the Champions League, which definitely is a huge advantage to them. They also were extremely close to the final last season, but Manchester United and Paul Scholes denied them, and they definitely want to bring back some European glory to Barcelona.
What not to expect during the match
Chelsea
Do not expect Chelsea to allow four goals in a match like they did against Liverpool at home. Also don't expect Chelsea to roll over and die if it becomes a blowout, because they will want to do their best to get off to a great start in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
And don't expect Chelsea not to be an attacking team during the game, because they will definitely want to get some away goals.
Barcelona
Do not expect Barcelona not to try to blowout Chelsea during this game, because they will want to get off to the best start as they possibly could. Also don't think that Barcelona will not use the Camp Nou to their advantage, because they definitely will.
And don't think that this will be a repeat of last year at home in the semifinals against Manchester United, because it definitely won't.
Prediction
Chelsea has been playing great lately, and they know that they could still accomplish the Treble. However, they are playing arguably the hottest team on the planet right now in Barcelona, and it doesn't seem that they will be able to beat them with their unbelievable offensive attack.
Expect Barcelona to win by a score of 3-1, but it could definitely be a closer game if Chelsea isn't impacted by the fact that they are playing in Barcelona here in the first leg, and they could get several away goals that could put them in the driver's seat going into the second leg at Stamford Bridge, but that seems highly unlikely.
