Are The Football Gods Telling Me To Be a Browns Fan?
I am beginning to sense the strangest thing. I think the football Gods are telling me something.
I am a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions. Yes, I know it's sad. This past decade has seen nothing but poor draft choices since Barry Sanders retired. It was highlighted mainly by the brillant decisions of Matt Millen. This year he is gone but I feel his spirit lives one. True they didn't draft a wide receiver, but they drafted a quarterback who has no chance to succeed behind this line.
In the meantime, the Cleveland Browns have brought in players that I like because of college allegiances. Yes, I have the unusual rooting interest in liking both Michigan and Notre Dame. The reason is I am from Michigan and have Irish Catholic roots.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It started a few years ago when the Browns drafted this receiver out of Michigan named Braylon Edwards. Then two years ago they draft a quarterback out of Notre Dame named Brady Quinn. For me, seeing a Notre Dame QB and a Michigan WR becoming the next great passing dual would be awesome.
The last few weeks have seen much speculation about both of them being traded on draft day. Well the draft has came and went and both are still Browns. Not only that, but also the Browns did not draft Mark Sanchez or any other QB as was specualted. They did acquire a back up in Brett Ratliff.
They also drafted a couple receivers to compliment Edwards. They are Brian Robiskie of Ohio State and Mohamed Massaquoi of Georgia. I am not to fond of Robiskie because of the awful college he played for. However, if he can help Quinn and Edwards I guess I can let the fact that he is a Buckeye slide.
Since I have lived in Hawaii, I began taking an interest in the University of Hawaii team. In the second round they selected a defensive linemen by the name of David Veikune. I always like seeing players from Hawaii succeed in the NFL.
On Day 2, the Browns draft a linebacker out of USC named Kaluka Maiava. Yes he did play for the Trojans, but I can't hold that against him. The reason is that this kid graduated from the same high school that I work at. When he was in high school, he was the absolute star of the football team. Yet in the classroom he remained very humble. I have to root for him.
So yes, this is getting weird. Why do the Browns keep taking players that I root for and the Lions continue to make bad decisions? I do remember when Art Modell moved the original Browns out. I thought it was terrible and should have been a crime. Although the Browns weren't my team, I hated that and I didn't know why. All these years later, are the football gods telling me something?
