Robert Guerrero's Dad Calls Floyd Mayweather 'Woman Beater' in Press Conference

Tim KeeneyMay 1, 2013

Ruben Guerrero just took trash talk to a whole new level.

Ruben is the father and trainer of interim WBC welterweight champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero, who is set to take on undefeated world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Ruben came to the podium in Wednesday's press conference, hyped the fight for about five seconds and then went ballistic at "Money May."

He stated, "We're going to beat up that woman beater. The one that beat up his wife, man. His wife—in front of his kids."

Warning: Language in the following video is NSFW (not suitable for work).

Guerrero continued for a little longer before Oscar De La Hoya awkwardly stole the microphone back. Of course, it didn't stop there, as Guerrero continued yelling at Mayweather as he returned to his seat.

It even got to the point where his son looked a little embarrassed.

This isn't the first time the elder Guerrero has made headlines. Throughout the buildup to the May 4 battle, he has been involved in multiple scuffles with Floyd Mayweather Sr., and there has even been talk of a fight between the two.

Trash talk is undoubtedly part of this sport, but unstoppable tirades like this one—especially from someone not even involved in the fight—are unnecessary.

Nevertheless, there's very little question that this outburst will only add fuel to an already intriguing fight.
