The NFL Network reported this.

Michael Mitchell was contacted by the Bears who told him that they were taking him with their 49th pick in the second round.

At least one team had Mitchell on their radar.

Al Davis swopped in and nabbed him at pick 47.

Mayock says this guy could have been taken in round 5, apparently not.

These prognosticators rely heavily on the all star games and the combine. Teams go the extra mile with private workouts etc. Mitchell wasn't at the combine or any all star games.

Who is Mitchell's hero then? None other that Jack Tatum.

Way to go Al.

This pick reminds me of when we took Namdi, reportedly a corner/safety tweener that had people shaking their heads a few years ago.

Lets hope the results with this pick are similar
