What a Win! Why You Can't Ever Count Out Manchester United
Yesterday, Manchester United showed us why they are the best team in England, if not the world with their 5-2 comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. They showed us fight, courage and the ability to win after falling behind by two going into the half.
They knew that Liverpool beat Hull City 3-1, and they needed a win to regain the top spot in the Premier League.
After they were down 2-0 after goals from Tottenham's Bent and Modric, Sir Alex Ferguson substituted Carlos Tevez for the ineffective Nani.
They were able to get a start on the comeback after they got favorable call from referee Howard Webb after Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes deflected the ball away from Michael Carrick, but Webb considered it to be a trip by the Brazilian keeper, which led to Cristiano Ronaldo taking and scoring the penalty to make it a 2-1 game.
Then United equalised when Wayne Rooney cut inside before shooting low and beating Gomes at his near post after the Spurs left him unguarded. One minute later, Rooney crossed the ball to Ronaldo, and he dove toward the net as the ball hit his head, and it found the back of the net, and gave Man Utd a stunning 3-2 lead.
But they weren't done, as Rooney then took his shot from the left edge of the six-yard box as the ball slided just over the line, despite Jonathan Woodgate’s best efforts to keep the ball from crossing the line, and it became a 4-2 game.
And former Spur Dimitar Berbatov sealed up the game with a finish from close range and gave United a 5-2 win. United now has a two point lead over Liverpool with a game in hand, and scored all five goals within 22 minutes.

Man Utd has shown us during the last week that they want to make it up to us the fans after their disapointing loss at Wembley to Evertonin the FA Cup semi-final, and ended the dream of a season with the quintreble.
They beat Portsmouth 2-0, and had the comeback against Tottenham yesterday to show that to us. Also, Carlos Tevez showed Man Utd how important he is to the team after he was substituted in for Nani, and the team scored five goals.
Tevez has said in the last week that he will probably leave Man Utdafter this season, even though he loves playing with them.
And of course, they have five games left in the season, to Liverpool's four, and with the two point lead, it looks like they now have the Barclays Premier League trophy all but locked up in the trophy cabinet.
