Picks That Have Everyone Scratching Their Heads
It is hard to go wrong in the first round of the NFL draft.
The talent is bountiful, and the top 10 picks are supposed to be sure things.
There will always be a bust or two, but this year everyone thinks they already know who those busts will be.
Tyson Jackson was taken with the third overall pick by the Chiefs.
Some estimates had this guy going in the second round. Yet the Chiefs saw something that made this guy go from being the third or fourth defensive end in the 2009 draft to the first.
The Chiefs did not even give the guy a private workout, but still pulled the trigger on him early.
The second head scratcher is Darrius Heyward-Bey being the first wide receiver taken in the 2009 draft.
Not Michael Crabtree. Not Jeremy Maclin. Heyward-Bey was taken as the seventh pick by the Oakland Raiders.
Well I guess if any team were to screw up their draft, the safest bet would be the Raiders.
Did Al Davis not know Michael Crabtree was still available?
All I know is that the 49ers are thankful for the Raiders stupidity as they take a relatively safe choice in drafting Crabtree with the tenth pick.
Lets see how the rest of the day turns out.
