NFL Draft Order 2013: Updated Listings for Entire Draft Following Day 1
Heading into Day 2 of the 2013 NFL draft, the man who was almost universally heralded as the draft's best quarterback is still on the board.
West Virginia's Geno Smith went undrafted through the first round, and with the Jaguars on the clock to begin Round 2, he might not be around for long.
If the Jaguars don't want Smith, look for them to be working the phones for a team that wants to trade up. With the Eagles, Cardinals and Jets picking in the next seven picks after them, Smith isn't likely to be around for long.
Smith wasn't the only big name to not get called on Day 1. Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o is still waiting to find a home, as is USC quarterback Matt Barkley. With names like these out there, we could be in for some wild trades to start the second round.
Check out the draft order as it stands at the completion of Round 1, and then I'll break down several of the bigger trades from the first day.

Day 1's Key Trades
Rams Trade Up to No. 8 with the Bills for Tavon Austin
The Rams needed to get an offensive playmaker.
And as we found out, the Bills had no need to draft as high as they did. So, they dropped from No. 8 and essentially picked up a second-rounder, among other pieces.
The Rams tweeted the deal:
The Bills were definitely wise to trade down, but there is a good chance that quarterback EJ Manuel (the Bills selection at No. 16) would have been around when the Bills drafted at No. 41 in the second round.
Of course, if Manuel pans out, no one will be complaining.
Falcons Trade Up to No. 22 with Rams for CB Desmond Trufant
St. Louis recouped some of what it lost by trading down from No. 22.
The Falcons jumped up eight spots to grab Washington cornerback Desmond Trufant and gave up picks No. 30, 92 and 198.
The Falcons are in an obvious win-now mode. So giving up quantity for quality is a strong play. Trufant needs to work on his ball skills to be effective in zones, but he is excellent in man coverage.
Considering the Rams wound up with wider receiver Tavon Austin and linebacker Alec Ogletree with their picks, they did outstanding.
Austin's explosiveness is exactly what the Rams' plodding offense needed, and Ogletree will thrive picking off passes while the Rams' strong defensive line rushes the passer.
Dolphins Trade Up to No. 3 with the Raiders for Dion Jordan
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie knew what player he wanted (cornerback D.J. Hayden), and he traded down to maximize his value.
The Dolphins were so anxious to take pass-rusher and athletic freak Dion Jordan that they dumped pick No. 42 to jump up to No. 3 from No. 12.
For the Dolphins, this deal hinges solely on Jordan's success. Can the undersized Jordan handle the physicality of the NFL? With his speed and quickness, he has the ability to drop into coverage while also bringing the ability to dominate rushing the passer.
The Raiders had to trade down if they wanted Hayden all along. They have lowered what would have been very high expectations for Hayden, and corner was a big need for the Raiders.
Now they can address another with the extra second-round pick.
Other Day 1 Trades
49ers Trade Up to No. 18 with the Cowboys for DB Eric Reid
Unlike many teams trading up, the 49ers didn't need to give up too much. They sent the 31st overall pick and pick No. 74 to Dallas.

Vikings Trade Up to No. 29 with the Patriots for WR Cordarrelle Patterson
You knew this was coming. The Patriots always find a way to hoard picks, and they traded pick No. 29 for Nos. 52, 83, 102 and 229.
