Joseph ZuckerJun 8, 2018

The rumor mill is going into overdrive with the NFL draft just hours away.

For good or bad, Twitter has changed the way fans experience the draft and its months of buildup. They can read the latest news and opinions regarding the top prospects in the draft.

While much of it is just pure conjecture, you start to get a good idea of how the first round will unfold when you throw it all together, especially near the beginning.

Here are some of the most recent news and rumors surrounding some of the first round's top prospects.

Heavy Interest in Tavon Austin

Tavon Austin won't have to worry about getting a sweet payday. Brent Sobleski of ESPN reported that Austin had a laundry list of interested suitors, including one in the top 10:

His size means Austin will thrive out of the slot most often. Teams might not consider a slot receiver as valuable, but this is the kind of player who can do major damage from anywhere on the field. He played just about every offensive skill position at West Virginia.

Austin is extremely quick and has fantastic vision. That will allow him to avoid big hits when going over the middle.

The Eagles Favor Barkevious Mingo over Dion Jordan?

The Eagles selecting Dion Jordan would reunite the pass-rusher with Chip Kelly. It's a pairing that makes a lot of sense considering Philadelphia's need to beef up its defense.

However, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is under the impression Jordan isn't the pass-rusher the Eagles are targeting the most:

Barkevious Mingo has the physical tools to become one of the best players to come out of this draft. The problem is how raw he is for being a top-10 pick. Jordan carries risk as well, but with Mingo, you wonder whether or not he'll be able to develop the kind of skills necessary to become more than a one-dimensional pass-rusher.

Baltimore Looking to Make Huge Trade Up in First Round?

The Baltimore Ravens need a left tackle right now, and Lane Johnson would be a great fit. The problem is that there's no way he falls to Baltimore. That's not a problem for Ravens management, according to Mike Preston of The Baltimore Sun:

"

The Ravens will be keeping an eye on Oklahoma left offensive tackle Lane Johnson.

He is rated the third-best at the position in the draft, and a lot of the experts have predicted he will go in the top 10 picks, but the Ravens might trade up for him at a reasonable cost. The Ravens have some options because they have 12 picks.

"

Joe Flacco is the guy now in Baltimore and needs to be treated as such. That starts at the offensive line. Selecting Johnson would give the Ravens a steady left tackle for the next decade.

With that many picks, the team has some pieces they can use to make a deal that a team near or inside the top 10 might consider.

Reaching for Ryan Nassib

If the Buffalo Bills take Ryan Nassib with the eighth pick, it will be considered a major reach. The problem is, should the Bills pass up on him in the first round, they could lose out on him altogether.

The New York Jets need a quarterback, so it would make sense for them to take one in the first round. They've got both the ninth and 13th picks and also select before Buffalo in the second round.

Nassib should become a productive quarterback in the league, but taking him that early carries some significant risk. The chances of New York taking Nassib with one of those three picks might be too great for the Bills to ignore.
