Sports Illustrated has dubbed the potential second round NHL playoff series between the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins the "match from hell." The Rangers are one win away from upsetting the Washington Capitals in the first round of the playoffs and the Bruins are waiting for them.

Brian Cazeneuve, writing for SI.com, said, "Should the Rangers advance to face the Bruins in the next round, New York's uberpest Sean Avery may meet his match in second-year Bruin Milan Lucic."

The Washington Capitals would have to win all three or the remaining games against the Rangers to win the series. Alex Ovechkin has one goal on an incredible number of shots and Henrik Lundqvist has been red hot in net for the Rangers.

Cazeneuve added, "picture Avery, the prankster who casually bonked Bruins goalie Tim Thomas on the head with his stick during a play stoppage on April 4. Then picture Lucic, one of the league's best hitters and garbage cleaners, mixing it up with Avery. This sounds like a match made in purgatory."

Lucic is 6'4" in and Avery is 5'10".

Lucic got a one game suspension for delivering a headshot to Maxim Lapierre of the Montreal Canadiens, during their first round playoff series. When he returned for game four, he belted Mike Komisarek, who then cross-checked Lucic in the face.

Bruins' coach Claude Julien demoted Lucic from the team's top line so he could regain his mean streak, Cazeneuve says.
