Bradley McDougald: 5 Things You Need to Know About the Kansas S
Kansas isn't exactly known for being a NFL factory.
Indeed, while John Riggins—one of the more iconic players in history—was a former Jayhawk, the hits are few and fare between.
Bradley McDougald doesn't figure to be the next Riggins, but he certainly has a chance to contribute at the next level.

Collegiate Stats
2 of 5Bradley McDougald had a unique college career.
The incoming rookie safety was actually a two-way player during his first two seasons with the Jayhawks—a rarity among FBS players these days. McDougald had decent statistics considering he was the fourth receiver as a freshman.
He blossomed as a full-time safety, and he might have the best hands at the position given his history as an offensive player.

McDougald had an average performance at the combine, not really helping or hurting his status in the draft community.
His pro day, however, saw him improve his 40-yard dash by a quarter of a second. McDougald clocked in at 4.49 seconds—a dramatic improvement. He also improved his 20-yard shuttle to 4.33 seconds and ran the 60-yard shuttle in 11.78 seconds.
Spurning the Big Boys
4 of 5You would think being offered a scholarship from an NFL factory would be a no-brainer over a school like Kansas. For McDougald, it was not.
Ohio State came calling for the versatile player, offering him a scholarship at safety. McDougald turned it down, calling OSU too much of a "professional school." Whatever that means, it seems more likely that he wanted early playing time at Kansas.
Who knows whether or not that hurt his draft stock, but the incoming rookie certainly made an interesting choice.
