Terrence Brown: 5 Things You Need to Know About the Stanford CB

Alessandro MiglioJun 8, 2018

The PAC-12 is loaded with NFL prospects, which might be why Terrence Brown has fallen by the wayside.

The Stanford product looks to be a third-day prospect. Here are five things you should know about him.

Combine results courtesy of NFL.com. College stats courtesy of sports-reference.com.

Background

1 of 5

Full Name: Terrence La'Neil Brown Jr.

Hometown: Torrance, California

School: Stanford

Year: Senior

Twitter: @tsmooth06 (unverified)

Terrence is from Torrance, a coastal city on the south side of Los Angeles. He went to Orange Lutheran for high school, where he played cornerback, safety and wide receiver.

Collegiate Stats

2 of 5

Terrence Brown didn't really get much action on the field until his junior year.

The Stanford product didn't play as a freshman and saw limited action as a sophomore. He did well when the Cardinal finally called on him to contribute, though his interception totals are rather low.

There is very little data to showcase for Terrence Brown. He did not participate at the NFL combine, and his pro day results only included three events.

The numbers he put up would have put him in the middle of the pack at the combine.

A Tough Act to Follow

4 of 5

One of the NFL's bigger names at cornerback nowadays was once a Stanford Cardinal himself.

Richard Sherman has staked his claim to elite status despite being a fifth-round draft pick. Can Terrence Brown come out of nowhere like his former teammate? He will have to do it from a later round, just like Sherman.

Observations

5 of 5

There were no significant tweets about Terrance Brown that I could find, but here are some scouting observations.

"

Brown will likely be nothing more than a depth player for a team, although that was said plenty about recent Stanford defensive backs in the last few drafts. He does have versatility with schemes, having played man in college and possessing the skill set to learn zone effectively.

"
"

Brown is only a two year starter with the Cardinal but possesses a long and lean frame to grow into. He may project best as a zone corner due to his ability to click and close, although Brown was locked to the left side of the formation most of the time. It helps that the junior isn't afraid to get aggressive in the running game.
