Tazz Going To TNA Rumors: Will It Happen? I Know

Joe Burgett Apr 23, 2009

About 3 weeks ago now, former ECW Champion Tazz left the WWE and his color commentating spot to take some time off. He claimed to be burnt out and just needed a break. He was also said to have left the WWE on good terms and the door was still open for a return.

Which is good for him I'm sure. Also he is one of the better wrestlers turn color commentator that the WWE has ever seen in my opinion. But now word has it that Tazz will be heading to TNA.

He claimed to be done with the wrestling side of things, which means he will not wrestle in TNA. But word has it that he will manage Samoa Joe, or be sort of an Adviser if you will for him.

It would be similar to what Kevin Nash did, just Tazz would again not be wrestling. They of course teased it a bit with Joe suplexing everything that moved at LockDown, but Tazz did not make an appearance.

Rumor has it that he still has a no compete clause by the WWE, but what is weird is that his contract expired which would mean he would not have a no compete clause.

However he will be in TNA once it expired if indeed there is one. If not then he would be making an appearance within the next few weeks or maybe a month at the most.

There is word on when he is done with the role with Samoa Joe that he would make his way to the announce table. Many think Don West would be kicked off the table, but since TNA has done a 3 man announce team before that it may happen.

An idea was to also have West do backstage work like a reporter or so. However TNA already has two good backstage interviewers so he would not be needed there.

Both Jeff Jarrett and Mike Tenay are against having a 3 man team again, but they both said they would do it to keep West on board.

I think it is pretty dumb to go through all that trouble to have Tazz join the announce team when he could just do manager work or maybe GM work instead. I guess TNA was not thinking.

TNA will be adding a lot of talent to the roster from what I have been hearing, we already saw Bobby Lashley make an appearance. Amazing Red, a former X-Division Champion in TNA is expected to make a return.

Also Paul London was set to be his partner, but pulled out last minute. They were supposed to both be involved in a taping either this week or next.

Now that London pulled out he is probably not going to get a chance to be in TNA, and Red's future may be in doubt. They want to use Red in the tag team division with London, and that was it.

But without London he cannot do that, so his future is up in the air. However TNa wants to still use him. Just I don't think they will be able to as soon as first thought.

He did well in singles wrestling before, so they could use him the same way. But it would probably be held off a little longer if they indeed use him.

I do not feel Tazz is as big of a land as the rest, as he would not be wrestling at all. He is a good land because of name only, but in the end he would not be something to watch for on TNA.

I feel Lashley, Red, and others would be better for them than Tazz right now as they need talent.

Since Tazz is a well known name, I am sure people will watch for him. But I feel in the end, it will do nothing for TNA. It is not that he was a bad wrestler in the past, just at this point if he is not getting in the ring there is no reason to really use him.

They could do like they did with Mick Foley at first and have him but into the company or give him a GM type role as I mentioned before. But where would you put Jim Cornette?

I think this move will do more harm than good.
