Barcelona 1-0 Levante: Cesc Fabregas Nets Late to Seal Barcelona's Victory

Barcelona played host to Levante at the Camp Nou, but all eyes were focused on the Champions League match with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Vilanova rested several stars. But the storyline of the night was Eric Abidal making his first start in over a year.

The match began with Barcelona controlling much of the possession, but chances were few and far between. Thiago, Iniesta and Song were all shining in the midfield. But it was the forwards who were wasting every chance that came.

Levante’s defense held strong and the halftime whistle blew with the teams even at 0-0.

As the second half began, the same problems arose. Soon Vilanova sent on Xavi, Pedro and Alexis Sanchez. The attack immediately caught fire and it was just a matter of time before a goal finally came.

With less than 10 minutes to go, Alexis Sanchez fed Cesc who fired to the far post to put Barcelona up.

From that moment, Barcelona was content to keep possession until the final whistle was blown at the Camp Nou.

La Blaugrana moved one step closer to La Liga glory, but the real focus was on the meeting with Bayern Munich which will take place in just three days.
