A solid fight, and a solid performance by both men. Eventually, skill won out and the better fighter took the fight down. If Cruz is ready to return in the coming months, another fight with Faber may be on tap. If not, Faber may have earned a title fight with whomever the interim champion will be.

The Ultimate Fighter Finale: Uriah Hall vs. Kelvin Gastelum

    Round 1

Hall looks massive in the cage. Gastelum puts Hall against the fence. Hall defending easily. Hall is off the fence. Hall with a quick low leg kick. Gastelum throwing and tags Hall. Bleacher Report scores the round 10-9 Hall, and the fight 29-28 Hall

Gastelum defeats Hall by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

The biggest takeaway from this fight is that Hall needs to burn his Anderson Silva tapes. It looked like he tried to emulate the world champion far too much instead of just sticking to his game. He was clearly the superior fighter in the cage, but he allowed Gastelum to have way too much offense. It was a poor performance from Hall that cost him the fight.

Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano

3 of 12

    Round 1

Tate immediately comes forward and takes Zingano down. They scramble, and Tate grabs a hold of Zingano's neck. Tate forces Zingano against the fence. After more knees the referee stops the fight!

Zingano defeats Tate by TKO at 2:55 of the third round

Tate controlled the first two fun rounds with wrestling and position. Zingano was clearly effected by the moment in the first, but after that the nerves left her. The third round was all Zingano. Her athletic and strength advantage took over. Unfortunately, the stoppage came a shade too soon in my opinion. Tate was still actively defending, and dropped for a takedown. Both Jon Anik and Kenny Florian claimed the knee dropped her, but it was clear Tate was looking to survive with a desperate takedown.

Zingano earns the title shot and coaching slot opposite Rousey. If this moment got her nervous, how will she handled headlining a card against Rousey? That is a huge question that will be answered later this year.

Samman defeats Casey by TKO at 2:17 of the second round

Casey had his chance early, but Samman survived and took over. Casey had no answer for the clinch, and Samman took over. He knew he had a clear advantage there and finished.

Luke Barnatt vs. Collin Hart

    Round 1

Bleacher Report scores the round 10-9 Barnatt, and the fight 29-28 Barnatt.

Barnatt defeats Hart by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

This was sloppy. Barnatt scored with his jab more in the later rounds, and at least that had some sort of technique behind it. Both fighters left it all in the cage, but they clearly are not UFC caliber fighters. Way too sloppy and inefficient to be in the Octagon.

Dylan Andrews vs. Jimmy Quinlan

8 of 12

    Round 1

Quinlan rushes in for a takedown, but Andrews defends. Quinlan briefly puts him down and Andrews pops back up. Quinlan pressuring Andrews against the cage. Quinlan finally completes the takedown, and is right in to side control. Andrews gets up as he eats a few punches from Quinlan, and Quinlan is right back to pressuring him against the fence. Andrews is not able to create any distance. The referee separates them. Andrews clips him and finishes with a flurry on the ground!

Andrews defeats Quinlan by TKO at 3:22 of the first round

Quinlan controlled the action with his pressure and grappling. A poor referee decision put him back in range, and Andrews capitalized. He did what he needed to do, but it would have been nice to see him work off the fence instead of the referee gift-wrapping that for him.

Clint Hester vs. Bristol Marunde

Marunde tries to bring this back to the ground, but Hester sprawls. They are back up. Big overhand right from Hester! Marunde is in desperation mode.

Bleacher Report scores the round 10-9 Hester

    Round 3

Hester with a good leg kick to finish a combination. Hester throws a haymaker, but Marunde changes levels and goes for a takedown. Good sprawl from Hester. Marunde may have completed that if it were an earlier round, but his gas tank is starting to run low. Flying knee hits Marunde. A nice right over the top from Hester. Marunde working for the takedown, but Hester is doing an excellent job at sprawling in this round. Marunde clinches, but it is Hester that lands good shots from that position. Elbow drops and finishes Marunde! Wow!

Hester defeats Marunde by knockout (elbow) at 3:53 of the third round

Hester looked very good against a tough Marunde. He still has a lot to improve upon in the wrestling department, but he is a threat on the feet. He possesses a lot of power in his hands. Hester showed why he was Jon Jones' first pick of the season, and hopefully we can continue to see him develop in the UFC's middleweight division.

Cole Miller vs. Bart Palaszewski

Palaszewski was finding his rhythm on the feet, but Miller was able to take the fight to his domain. One the mat he was outclassed, and Miller locked in the choke. This is the Miller we love to watch compete.

Exciting round with 30 seconds still remaining.

Bleacher Report scores the round 10-9 Sicilia.

    Round 3

They immediately brawl! The Facebook stream has failed me in the third frame. I get it back with one minute to go in the final round, and Blanco is on top of Sicilia. Sicilia gets back to his feet, and Blanco lands a knee. That's where the round ends. Unfortunately, due to the technical failure of the stream I cannot score the final frame.

Blanco defeats Sicilia by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

This was a fun fight, and a good result for Blanco. Each fighter has significant improvements to make before they challenge the top guys in the division. All-in-all, a solid fight and result for Blanco.

Justin Lawrence vs. Daniel Pineda

12 of 12

    Round 1

Lawrence opens with a headkick, but it's blocked by Pineda. Pineda puts Lawrence on his back. Pineda moves to side control and is working on a Kimura. Lawrence is trapped against the fence, and Pineda makes quick work of him by getting the tap. Impressive.

Pineda defeats Lawrence via submission (Kimura) at 1:35 of the first round

Very impressive performance from Pineda. Got the quick takedown, and instantly worked for the submission. Lawrence was trapped and had nowhere to go, and could not defend the submission. Good win for Pineda.
