TUF 17 Finale: Predicting the Fight of the Night Bonuses
The end of the 17th installment of The Ultimate Fighter comes this Saturday, when Team Sonnen teammates Uriah Hall and Kelvin Gastelum compete for the tournament championship. Both men have deserved their spot, looking highly impressive in their respective runs on the show.
Headlining the card though is a bout between bantamweight counterparts Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen. A win from either man would boost their stock to possible top contender.
Here are the favorites for the fight-night bonuses come Saturday.
Knockout of the Night: Uriah Hall
1 of 3Uriah Hall may in fact be the nastiest guy to step foot on the TUF stage, inflicting fear into all opponents before they even step in the cage with him.
His run on the show has been impressive. Hall owns wins over Andy Enz, Adam Cella, Bubba McDaniel and Dylan Andrews en route to his spot in the finale.
Kelvin Gastelum will be a legit opponent, but he may find himself unconscious and Hall may get a nice bonus for it.
Also in the running: Travis Browne, Justin Lawrence, Josh Samman, Clint Hester
Submission of the Night: Urijah Faber
2 of 3There is a high chance there won't be many submissions come fight night, but Urijah Faber's all-around superiority to Scott Jorgensen will play out generically.
Faber and Jorgensen will slug it out, as their respective wrestling will cancel out. At some point midway through the fight, Faber will rock Jorgensen and look for the kill.
While Jorgensen is dazed, Faber will slap on a choke and win the fight. That win will give him some more cash in his pocket.
Also in the running: Bristol Marunde, Josh Samman
Fight of the Night: Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano
3 of 3The ladies of MMA have been putting on some amazing fights as of late, so there is no reason to think that Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano won't put on a dynamite bout.
Zingano is a jiu-jitsu fighter, while Tate is a wrestler with good submission skills herself. What may follow may be a technical grappling match or a fun kickboxing bout.
Either way it goes down, this fight could be the best. Plus, Dana White's recent change of heart to loving WMMA may hit a soft spot with him, allowing these women a chance to earn some bonus money.
Also in the running: Urijah Faber-Scott Jorgensen, Cole Miller-Bart Palaszewski
