Recap
David Alaba scored after just 25 seconds as Bayern Munich burst out of the gate in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Juventus.
The Bianconeri, who spent much of the 90 minutes on the back-foot, test Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer just twice at Allianz Arena while their own Gianluigi Buffon was called into action on 10 occasions.
Bayern missed the net a further 11 times as they pressed for more of an advantage heading into the return fixture, but it took until shortly after the hour-mark for their pressure to pay off.
Mario Mandzukic was slightly offside as Luiz Gustavo drove a low shot toward the far corner, and as Buffon dove to make the save the Croatian was in good position to take the rebound and square it for Thomas Muller, who had a tap-in.
In addition to their two-goal deficit Juventus will also be without midfielder Arturo Vidal and wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner after both players were booked on Tuesday and will miss the second leg on April 10.
