Taking the Triple Threat Match to the Next Level (Take Note WWE)
In WWE we are now seeing more triple threat matches then ever, but it's always either the same superstars participating or we are shown the same things over and over again.
The most recent occasion was the triple threat match at Wrestlemania 25. John Cena, Edge and Big Show were involved in a very lackluster match that left the fans disappointed. Edge had just been involved in a feud with Jeff Hardy and Triple H only a couple of months earlier.
If WWE insist on having this many triple threat matches, then why not be a little innovative and have matches that we've never seen before, but using the stipulations that we are familiar with. Some examples are:
Triple Threat Hell In A Cell (never been done)
Triple Threat Iron Man match
Triple Threat TLC
Triple Threat Tables match
Triple Threat Ladder match
Triple Threat Cage match
Triple Threat Street Fight
Triple Threat Falls Count Anywhere
Triple Threat Submission match
I know that WWE has gone PG, but table and ladder matches used to be staples in wrestling. They drew in crowds, and they are part of the reason that I watch each week. The fans should be able to dictate what they want to watch.
I would love to see Chris Jericho, Undertaker and CM Punk in a triple threat submission match. Walls of Jericho vs. Hell's Gate vs. Anaconda Vise (please bring back this move).
Imagine in the lead up to Wrestlemania's MITB match that you had a triple threat feud between Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison and R Truth that included a triple threat ladder match at No Way Out!
All I'm trying to say is that WWE should mix it up a bit. Triple threat matches are fine, but not just normal matches all the time. There are always different stipulations for singles matches, so why not triple threats as well?
