Why John Cena Should Be on Smackdown
With the WWE draft over, there really was only one big surprise. That was that John Cena is still on Raw. I thought for sure he would be drafted to Smackdown.
His never ending rivalry with Edge is hot right now. This is a rivalry that could get carried out for a few months. WWE fans love this rivalry and it will never get old.
Cena also has been on Raw for a very long time and a change of scenery could be good for his career. It would be good to see him take on some new opponents.
Even without those factors, Cena should be on Smackdown. The reason is that he no longer fits on Raw. Raw's main storyline over the coming months will involve a three way war between former Evolution members. Randy Orton and Legacy, Triple H, and Batista will all be battling for the WWE title. Don't be surprised if the title changes hands multiple times.
While this war will be a great story and fun to watch, it does make Cena the odd man out. Sure he is the World Champ, but you know Edge will have to take it to Smackdown after Backlash. Having both champions on the same show really doesn't make sense.
I knew the three way war was being set up. Then when Triple H came back to Raw, I thought for sure Cena would go to Smackdown later. It didn't happen.
Then I thought maybe he would go in the supplemental draft, but Cena is too big of a name to go in the supplemental draft.
Now the WWE almost has to have Edge take the title at Backlash. Hopefully Cena will follow the title to Smackdown. He really won't fit on Raw then. Sure he could be in a fatal fourway, but that war is best only having three. Cena was never associated with Evolution and will not fit in this.
