Get a mop. Brent Musburger is slavering on the floor again!
After Alabama quarter AJ McCarron's girlfriend Katherine Webb stole the show at the BCS Championship game this January, no one expected another sideline beauty to step onto the scene.
But much like her husband’s basketball team, stunner Amanda Marcum came out of nowhere this past week and boom—#DunkCity looked more like #SmokeTownUSA.
Andy Enfield’s unknown Florida Gulf Coast basketball team is doling out upsets by the dunk this March and his lovely supermodel wife is quickly becoming a Webb-like cherry on top.
Do I need to explain the similarities? That both have modeling experience, are in relationships with rising sports stars and the teams they’re associated with are ripping apart their opponents in the postseason?
So yes, the obvious ties are there, and after the Webb-splosion at the BCS National Championship we can all rest assured CBS will milk the Marcum angle as long as FGCU stays in the tournament.
That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on whether or not you’re a basketball purist. Some fans like their sports without any side-story or distraction, and huff mightily when women like Webb or Marcum take a moment's worth of focus away from the game.
But even the staunchest basketball puritans must admit—something about Marcum is much more more palatable than Webb.
Maybe it’s because the former Maxim cover model is supporting the humble coach of a micro-market basketball team. Or perhaps it’s because she’s wrangling her and Enfield’s three children in the stands instead of watching the game like a bored deer.
Regardless of why she seems like Webb 2.0, America is quickly falling in love with Florida Gulf Coast University and its beautiful leading lady.
