What's Up with Those Chicago Cubs! Please, Will Someone Help !

phil gialluisiApr 17, 2009

What do you say?

The Cubs can't hold a lead, and they don't have a viable offense.

Going up today against a young rookie pitcher in Walters from the Cardinals, you would expect a lineup, such as the Chicago cubs, to really beat up on this guy.

In the beginning, it looked promising, but as usual, when the opportunities were there they failed to score those added runs.  I felt it would come back and haunt them.

The Cardinals offense isn't much to figure out, but they find a way to score and be fast in bunches.

If you get through their three-four hitters your'e okay, but Pulhose is a big threat, always, and with Ludwig behind him, it's been working thus far like last year.

I, as a Cubs fan first and baseball fan second, have been listening to the fans venting on Sports Talk here on Scorer 670 in Chicago, IL.

The fans aren't patient, and losing isn't excepted but lived with, barely.

Today was an exception coming back to win 8-7 ,but this won't continue down the road.  I have reached out out to a higher anarchy, because of the expectations we Cubs fans are waiting now to develop.

I know we have 152 games left, and we're in trouble for sure.

Jim Hendry better figure where to go get a solid middle reliever to help the Cubs hold the lead in the middle innings.

Our offense, on paper, clearly has the potential, but look, Fukedome and Hoffepeuir have been the large offenses here early on.

Boy 'o boy, where would we be with out the bench?

Bradley, who was suppose to be the difference maker, has done nothing and shame on him for letting the fans down with this weak injury.

This Cubs team looks to be fun, at times.

They have their own rotation issues, however they seem to have that spark and the fire inside them. The Cubs are still waking up from their offseason vacation, where their game is stuck in neutral.

Tony Larrusa is a great manager, and I always respected him much more so than Lou Pinella.

Lou hasn't done that much to make this team what it is or helped there success in the last few years.

Their success was built on the players and some of the pitching coaches and hitting coach of the past.

I feel awful right now, and I expressed my view on Scorer 670, many times this week.

I don't know how the critics still pick this team to win this division.

Even if they did like the Chicago Bulls, they're missing the key personnel to go far and deep into the playoffs. You can all laugh at me, but watch this team fumble, and if they land second, in this division that will be a gift from heaven.

Say Jim or Lou my number is 815-790-3451, call me, and hear it from real guys who, by the way, care about this team and have nothing to show for the desire we put on our faces, daily, in each game.

Really, I care, and it's heartbreaking to see a team that could have been!

Now we wait until game three and wait to see who will get us out of the losing column.

I would hope the Cubs come out of their coma. The only thing in their favor is the many teams in the Major Leagues that are perfoming worse.  Some, for that matter are shocking the baseball world.
