After going 3-3 in week one, we take a look at a busy upcoming week for the New York Mets. It all kicks off with the Metsโ home opener and the inaugural game at Citi Field.
Monday, April 13: Citi Field Opener! Mike Pelfrey hopes to bounce back after an interesting win last week at Cincinnati. He gave up four runs in the first inning but managed to bounce back nicely the rest of the game. He opposes San Diegoโs Walter Silva who made his MLB debut last week. 7:00 PM start.
Tuesday, April 14: Off Day
Wednesday, April 15: Tax Day, yes! Letโs hope Oliver Perez provides less aggravation than many feel around this time every year. The Mets lefty opposes righty Kevin Correia in the 7:00 PM game.
Thursday, April 16: Other than two solo homers, Maine had a good start to the 2009 season. The righty takes on San Diegoโs Shawn Hill at 7:00 in the finale to the three-game series.
Friday, April 17: The Brewers come into town for the second Citi Field series. Livan Hernandez hopes to keep up the pace after an impressive outing. He takes on righty Dave Bush in the 7:00 PM game.
Saturday, April 18: Get him some runs! Johan Santana takes the mound after racking up 13 strikeouts against the Marlins on Sunday. The Brewers send Jeff Suppan to the hill in the 1:10 PM afternoon showdown.
Sunday, April 19: Two of baseballs brightest young arms go toe-to-toe in the 1:10 game. Mike Pelfrey makes his second start of the week against the Brewersโ Yovani Gallardo.
