The series between the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils starts up tonight at 7:30 EST. This should be a good matchup, because the Hurricanes and the Devils are both very good Eastern Conference teams.

This matchup creates a problem for Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur, who has struggled against the 'Canes this season and in the postseason.

I believe this series will go to seven games and the 'Canes will take it with their newly vamped offense that now has star Eric Cole (as seen above in picture).

This is a matchup of two very good goalies.  Martin Brodeur has more experience but Cam Ward is on fire.  Although Ward struggled against the Predators, I believe he will show up with his game face on.

I believe that with semi-new coach Paul Maurice, the 'Canes will go deep into the playoffs.

The team in the East that the Canes do need to watch out for, though, is the Boston Bruins.  Although I personally think they are overrated, they are a real threat to the Eastern Conference.  Another team worthy of mention is the Washington Capitals.  They have the best goal scorer in the NHL, Alex Ovechkin (I HATE HIM).

I do believe the 'Canes will take the Devils and get ready to face either the No. 8 seed Montreal or the No. 1 seed Boston.
