Temuri Ketsbaia, We Thank You!!!

Maybe this is not a famous article for most of you, and maybe you are right about that.

In this article, I am going to explain some of the feelings of Anorthosis famagusta fans around the island of Cyprus. Just in case most of you do not know, Anorthosis, this year, became the first Cypriot team to enter the champions league group stage.

This team comes from the Turkish occupied town of Famagusta and for the last 35 years they manage after a lot of difficulties to have their own jewel, The Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca, the town that absorbed most of Famagusta refugees.

Ok these are enough for this teams past. In 2003-'04 Anorthosis was under a huge financial crisis and none of us knew what would be the future for our team, so Mr. Ketsbaia became the first football player-coach in Cyprus.

Just in few words in 2004-'05 this team that started with nothing manage to take the champion, in 2006-'07 they won the cup and last year 2007-'08 they won the champion they were finalist in the cup and they drove us all crazy when they entered the champions league group stage.

I'm letting you all decide if that was a bad year for Anorthosis. Temuri wanted to thank the players and as respect he didn't want to bring other players in the team because then he would have to send some of the old players away.

For me personally, this was fair enough after all those happiness we got from them this year.

But unfortunately some other factors wanted him away. Some other factors in the team wanted to have all the control about everything. As you can see Anorthosis this year had a lot of money that some other people earn them in the field (the squad and Mr. Ketsbaia).

And so after some major losses in the championship they started to destroy Temuris reputation and the complains started. That everything was Ketsbaia's fault. As an Anorthosis fan I felt that I wanted to write those things so at least somewhere our love for Ketsbaia is going to be written.

I know that this year was not bad for our team and I even know that this was the best year ever for Anorthosis. I know that these five years was the best years for me as a fan and yes Mr Ketsbaia we love you, we respect you as nothing and we thank you for everything.

When we needed help you were here ,those who made you go away they were in their offices waiting for the chance to take advantage of everything that you have built in Anorthosis.

And unfortunately I know that Anorthosis will never be the same without you.

Again we thank you for making us live the dream of Champions League.
