Rams 2013 Salary Situation: Breaking Down St. Louis' Current Cap Status
Over the course of the past couple weeks the Rams have been taking every approach to lower their salary cap number. Steven Jackson voiding the final year of his contract was a start, and releasing Quintin Mikell was an additional step to trimming even more fat.
Both of those moves combined for $10 million in savings off the total cap number. That, in turn, has put them approximately $25,031,393 under the cap. That's good news for a team looking for help on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
According to Overthecap.com, at the opening bell of free agency, the Rams total cap number was at $97,968,607.
