Chicago Cubs and the World Series: It's Not Going To Happen
What's it been? Over 101 years since the Cubs have last won a World Series? Over 64 years since they've even appeared in a World Series? But still, every year, the same mantra applies: This is the Cubs' year. Sorry to burst your bubble, Cubs fans, but it's not.
I know that I am not the only person who gets sick of seeing this and this. Outlandish claims like Kosuke Fukudome is going to take the Cubs to the World Series seriously need to stop. They bolster the confidence of the fans of the "lovable losers," only to then be disappointed by being swept out of the playoffs.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
When the majority of SI and Yahoo "experts" pick the Cubs to even make the World Series year after year, let alone the NLCS, it just gets annoying. It seems like the only reason they pick the Cubs is because "it's gotta happen eventually." That's just false. There is a high probability that the Cubs will never taste sweet glory.
Blame it on the "curse." Blame it on the lousy management. Blame it on the ownership.
Who cares?
As longs as the players consistently underperform and choke in the end, the Cubs will continually be Completely Useless By September. The media and fans have put such an onus on the Cubs—either World Series or bust—that the pressure will most likely have them out of the baseball season early again this year. It seems like the only way the Cubs can succeed is if fans stop believing.
