Dwyane Wade Has Once Again Proved He's Better than LeBron James
We all know that the award isn't based on individual brilliance or which player has had the most consistent season.
The award rewards the player whose teammates have done the best job at SUPPORTING the star.
So let us take a look at how each player’s team has fared this season.
FGM: 37.1 (12th) to 36.7 (15th)
Miami with its young team has managed more made baskets.
FGA: 81.1 (15th) to 78.6 (25th)
Miami has managed to take more shots.
FG%: 45.7 (13th) to 46.8 (sixth)
I didn't expect Wade to have the Heat this close.
3PM: 7.0 (11th) to 8.0 (4th)
3PA: Didn't think the Heat would be this close.
3P%: 19.7 (10th) to 20.3 (5th)
Opp3P%: 35.6 (22nd) to 39.3 (first)
James' teammates hold the best percentage in the league.
FTA: 23.0 (23rd) to 24.7 (15th)
FT%: 75.7 (22nd) to 75.8 (21st)
OFR: 10.0 (26th) to 10.8 (18th)
DFR: 29.3 (22nd) to 31.5 (eighth)
TRG: 39.3 (28th) to 31.5 (seventh)
APG: 20.4 (17th) to 20.2 (21st)
Turnovers: 11.9 to 11.9
I was shocked to see both at fourth.
Forced turnovers: 14.7 (6th) to 12.9 (18th)
I was shocked to see the Heat leading this stat.
SPG: 8.0 (fifth) to 7.3 (17th)
BPG: 5.5 (fourth) to 5.3 (eighth)
Amazing how Wade leading James in this stat affects the overall standing of the two teams.
Fouls per game: 20.7 (17th) to 20.2 (seventh)
Defensive percentages:
45.6(13th) to 43.0(1st)
39.2(28th) to 33.3(1st)
So there are the stats. Debate what you will with them...but I personally don't see such a huge difference in them. To me, it comes down to experience being the reason why the Cavs are in a better position then the Heat.
Not James being more valuable then Wade.
