Manchester United will offer England international forward Wayne Rooney a new contract, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Rooney, 27, joined United from Everton in 2004. His current contract, which is reportedly worth £250,000 per week, expires at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Rooney was left on the bench for United's 2-1 loss to Real Madrid last week in the UEFA Champions League. The omission has sparked intense media speculation over his future.

According to the Sunday Times, Bayern Munich could attempt to bring Rooney to Germany.

Meanwhile, the Mail on Sunday reports that Rooney will be asked to take a pay cut to £230,000 per week with his new deal.

Barcelona Target Vincent Kompany to Replace Carles Puyol?

Barcelona have targeted Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany to replace Carles Puyol, according to the Sunday People (via Sunday Mirror).

Kompany, a 26-year-old Belgian international, joined City from Hamburg in 2008. He signed a six-year contract last summer, according to the report.

Puyol, a Spain international, turns 35 next month. Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels is thought to be another option for Barcelona.

Real Madrid Prepare £110 Million Offer for Gareth Bale?

Real Madrid are preparing a £110 million package to sign Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Sunday Mirror.

According to the report, Real would pay Spurs £60 million for Bale's transfer this summer. Bale would then earn £10 million per year for five years.

Spurs, meanwhile, are reportedly ready to pay Bale £170,000 per week (£8.84 million per year).

Bale, 23, joined Spurs from Southampton in 2007. He has scored 22 goals in all competitions this season.

Roberto Carlos: Barcelona Have '90 Percent' Chance to Sign Neymar

Barcelona have a "90 percent" chance to sign Neymar, according to former Brazil international defender Roberto Carlos (Al Jazeera via Marca).

Neymar, 21, currently plays for Santos in his native Brazil but has been linked with several top European clubs, including Barcelona.

Speaking of Barcelona's chances of signing Neymar, Roberto Carlos said: "They're very well-placed and have a 90 percent chance."
