Joe Flacco Celebrates Record-Breaking Contract with Trip to McDonald's

What would be the first thing you would do if you signed a contract complete with a $29 million signing bonus and $52 million in guaranteed money?

Well, if you were Joe Flacco, you'd go to McDonald's.

Yes, that's right, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback ordered a 10-piece McNugget meal for $6.99 two hours after signing his massive six-year, $120.6 million extension with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com

Flacco even posed for a picture at the drive-thru in Aberdeen, Md.

Apparently, we don't have to worry about Flacco spending all of his money in one place.

While other stars in the NFL are living large, Flacco prefers to spend his time at the local McDonald's, where he can get all the McNuggets he could ever want.

This isn't the first time a player or coach has rolled up to a fast-food chain after a big win. As Rovell noted, Phil Mickelson found the nearest Krispy Kreme in Augusta, Ga. after winning the Masters in 2010. Former New York Knicks head coach Jeff Van Gundy stopped by McDonald's in his Honda Civic after signing a two-year extension in 1996.

Should sports fans be camping out at the local McDonald's, waiting for the next professional athlete to stop by? What is going on here? Aren't high-paid superstars supposed to be splurging at expensive restaurants or—better yet—hiring personal chefs?

If nothing else, Flacco and company are making McDonald's look good.

Next McDonald's campaign slogan: "Who needs fine dining when you can eat hamburgers with Joe Flacco?"
