Norwich City: 3 Reasons Kei Kamara Should Be Signed Permanently
I think it’s fair to say that fans have been impressed with what they have seen from Kei Kamara in a Norwich shirt so far. Of course, he is only here on loan at the moment, so there will be intense speculation on if he can make the move permanent.
In reality, this is not a decision that needs to be made until the end of the season, but it is something that will keep people occupied. I think it would also reflect well on the MLS if Kamara could do enough to persuade the Canaries to take him on full-time. So, here are some things that he brings to the table.
He’s a Bit of a Live Wire
1 of 3Sometimes you see players that offer something a little bit different to the norm. I think it’s fair to say that Kamara fits into that category. This basically means that no one seems to know what he is going to do next. But this sort of quality can make it hard for the opposition to defend against him.
Chris Hughton likes to use a defensive system as a rule, so this MLS forward can offer something slightly different in attack when few opportunities arise. It is this that prevents the sort of thinking that occur when teams like ideas.
He Offers That Perfect Balance Between Strength and Pace
2 of 3Those that have seen Kei Kamara at Carrow Road this season will have noticed that he is strong but also pacy. These qualities were certainly not previously seen in the Norwich City team. Simeon Jackson offers a bit of pace, and some fans feel James Vaughan should be recalled. But Kamara seems to be an upgrade on both of those options.
He proved how useful he can be with a wonderful cameo in the home game against Everton. The pace, strength and trickery he has is simply very difficult to defend against. And this is, perhaps, the major reason for acquiring the player permanently.
He Has Already Proved That He Has an End Product
3 of 3There can be a concern with some players of this type that they do a lot of running around but not much else. Norwich fans will have immediately seen his obvious qualities, but it wasn’t immediately known if he could score and assist goals.
However, that question was quickly answered following a goal against Everton. Obviously, it is still early days, but the early signs have all been very good. Norwich may want to think about getting the deal done sooner rather than later, because the more the plays, the higher the price is likely to be. Also, there is a risk of competition for his signature.
That all being said, the deal that the club has should have the option to make it permanent. Therefore, a transfer fee may have already been agreed. And if that is the case, they can just relax and enjoy his qualities.
