MLB 2k13 Player Ratings: Top-Rated Stars Who Will Make Game More Entertaining

Richard LangfordJun 3, 2018

Just because players may have a similar rating in MLB 2k13, it doesn't mean they will offer up similar enjoyment to their users.

While part of this will depend on a person's preferred playing style, there are some players that will be a blast in this game no matter how the game is played.

With MLB 2K13 set to hit the shelves on March 5, let's take a look at some of the players who will star.

Player ratings come to us via Operation Sports.

Mike Trout: 99

Mike Trout has popped up some insane numbers for a 21-year-old, and count his 99 rating in this game as another.

No matter what sport video game franchise we are talking about, a 99 rating is rare. In last year's MLB 2K13 debut, only Albert Pujols and Justin Verlander earned this honor.

This year, Trout pulls off the feat, and you can't argue with the ranking. Trout can do everything on the baseball field, and this rating recognizes that.

Trout will be a highlight machine on offense and defense in this game.

R.A. Dickey: 92

Knuckerballers are great in real life and in the video game world. Coming off his Cy Young season, Dickey carries a lofty rating of 92, and it is almost exclusively because of his knuckle.

One of the unique things Dickey brings to the knuckleball is some speed. He can throw this tricky pitch in the 80s and he has solid control.

While his other pitches in this game will surely be limited, those secondary pitches are almost always more effective in the video-game realm than they are in the real thing.

With Dickey on the mound in this game, you can master his movement and watch hitters flail and make weak contact.

Mariano Rivera: 92

Over the years, Mariano Rivera's complete dominance has been represented well in this series. However, I've never rushed to use the great closer. While effective, he only has the one dominant pitch: the cutter.

However, this may be the last year we get a chance to use Rivera.

With Rivera coming off a torn ACL for his 19th season, he was already contemplating retirement. That means it is time to savor the cutter and milk it for all it's worth because we may never see a more dominant pitch or as dominant a closer again.
