The NFL Draft Board

Josh ClarkMar 31, 2008

With all of the controversy contained the top six picks in this years draft, I plan to put together an undeniable draft that nobody will complain with.

I've seen a lot of drafts. I've read everything about them, and even bought SportsNews draft review for '08 and read just about every profile in there to put together the most undeniable top six picks in the NFL draft.

1. Miami Dolphins—Chris Long, DE Virigina

The Dolphins struggled in many places last year, but defense was the one that hurt them the most. The Dolphins allowed 50 touchdowns last year, 18 by rushing, 28 by passing, and four by returns.

This clearly shows that the Dolphins need some help getting to the quaterback as fast as they possibly can. Chris Long should lower both the rushing and passing touchdowns allowed to the opposing teams

2. St. Louis Rams—Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU

Glenn Dorsey is one of the most valued prospects in this year's draft and I really have a hard time seeing St. Louis pass on him. He's a great player who gets to the QB relatively quickly. He does have knee problems which could be a problem for the Rams.

3. Atlanta Falcons—Brian Brohm, QB Louisville

I'm taking a risk here, but Brian Brohm is the number-one rated QB if you ask me. He's got a tremendous arm and doesn't force passes. He's also a very accurate QB and I think Matt Ryan's Junior year will make the Falcons pick Brohm over Ryan.

4. Oakland Raiders—Sedrick Ellis, DT USC

Al Davis has been known in the past to go with the BPA (Best Player Available). Unless he wants his franchise to go down the tubes, he will get over the BPA and pick what is needed. The Raiders were horrible against the run(ranking 30th in the league, only looking down at the Dolphins) and Sedrick Ellis can stop the run. Of course, the Raiders still have a long way to go before they get their run-stopping defense back on track, but he is a cure.

5. Kansas City Chiefs—Matt Ryan, QB Boston College

The Kansas City Chiefs had the worst points per game in the league with only 14.1.  Matt Ryan is the only franchise QB left in the draft, and he is a sure pick here.

With a running back that can get yards and a possible franchise QB, The Kansas City Chiefs will be able to rack up more points per game which should lead to more wins.

6. New York Jets—Darren McFadden, RB University of Arkansas

I see the most controversial player in the draft, Darren McFadden, falling to the Jets.  There is a lot of talk of the Dallas Cowboys trading up to take him, but I don't see the Cowboys doing so as they have WR needs they need to take care of first. With a revamped offensive line, it's just jumping at me that the Jets are leaning towards taking Darren McFadden.

I know I will get a lot of disagreements, but I'm hoping this is one of the better drafts you've seen. Thanks for reading and comment me, good or bad.
